I've got a single garage at the bottom of my garden and I want to replace it with a double garage say 5m x 8m. I want it brick built with a pitched and tiled roof a few electric points and basic lighting. It needs some doors and windows to the side and a single manual garage door at the front.

What sort of price range should I expect to pay a builder to do this in undecorated form?

I have seen 2 similar projects tendered just recently , 6 x 5m

One 16k the other 18k as required more in the ground due to adjacent trees.

Maybe max 20k for yours due to the additional size .

Both projects in the Thames Valley area

I got quoted of somewhere between 7-8K for a bog standard single garage with no features like lighting on an existing hard standing.

I'd say between 15-20k. We spent around £30k getting a 1.5x garage, porch, and LARGE block paved drive. That was with VAT at 15% though.

I've been looking into this and found the following sites useful for ball-park estimates and design drawings.

Cheers. About what I expected.

Just need to convince the Mrs now! Maybe she won't notice 3 metres missing from the end of the garden.
