Randomly signed out when trying to post

This has happened a few times recently and there doesn't seem to be anyway to stop it.
I'll type a reply, click "Submit" and it'll say you're not signed in, please do so or register. I click sign in and it says return to PH, I do so but am not signed in, try again and that happens ad finitum.
Most of the time quitting Safari or giving up and coming back later works.

Any ideas why?

Sounds like a corrupt cookie to me, try clearing your cookies and then logging back in.
