Vuvuzelas at Silverstone MotoGP

I heard some moron from the African Football whatsit on the radio earlier saying that these plastic horns are traditional, how long has plastic been traditional?
PS plastic melts, cigarette lighters are cheap.
They are, although the plastic version is recent. Trust me, until you've heard hundreds of the things up close, you don't have a clue. The real trick is making them "crack" and the sound is ear splitting. The kind of noise that goes right through you, wants to make you grab an M14 and mow every Mo' Fo' with a vuvuzela down. At 4 in the morning, outside my window, i'm really starting to have a sense of humour failure. And breath. PS plastic melts, cigarette lighters are cheap.

But they were out in force the other night witht he Brazilian drum band, and it was fantastic. if anyone watches the ESPn coverage from Nelson Mandela Square, we tend to be outside the window down below, very very drunk.
We have hatched a plan to bring a trampoline to the square so we can bounce up and down into the camera's view, as they are up above us...All accompanied by the drums and vuvuzelas!!
It's rocking over here!!!

Although without Rossi there, maybe it will just be actual MotoGP fans there rather than the 46r's.
Shame there's not a coffee-bean icon too.
It was also interesting to see the number of Silverstone tickets on sale on eBay increase dramatically upon news of Rossi's broken leg.
However this is a thread about vuvuzelas rather than Rossi fanbois, so I'll let you get back to coffee-beaning yourself over pics of your hero. (Oh look, I can resort to childish insults too!)

I couldn't really give a toss who you *think* is my hero, but (despite the fact that I loathe thugball with a passion) your comment reminded me of the thugball fans who get all upset about people supporting Man U.As to the vuvuzela thing - I'm 100% with you; however I think that the genie is now out of the bottle and won't be going back in - coming soon to every single sporting event I work in the online gambling industry at the moment and there are lots of TVs round the office showing the matches. The volume is on really very low indeed (barely audible) but the drone of the things, even at that volume, is absolutely pervasive. I had a headache when I got home yesterday and I'm convinced that is what caused it. Horrible things.
I'm not into football either, so I love the World Cup as it means the roads are incredibly quiet, all the better to ride on.
As for whether I'm the same as the people who hate the 'Man U' supporters, there are probably some similarities.
I have complete respect for Rossi's abilities and have obviously seen him many times since he was a nipper in 125 and when he wins, I am right there applauding him. He is just not the be-all-and-end-all of MotoGP to me as he is to many of the people who turn up/tune in to see him, and for me personally, if none of those people turn up this weekend my Silverstone MotoGP experience will be all the better for it. I do accept however, that some of their money does help the sport I love, so it's not all bad.
Anyway, as I said, enough about the Rossi fans, lets all join forces to fight the joint enemy, the vuvuzela!

To be honest, I'd be tempted to go just to say that I'd seen Rossi race. He is a living legend, and will be spoken of for a long, long while. Maybe others feel the same so have stuck their tickets on ebay when they discovered he wasn't?
