Strawberry/Pink Theme Cakes

Hiya everyone,

Looking for your best recipes for a breast cancer cake stand I have been asked to make some things for.
The theme for the day is strawberries and pink. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'm having a little baking party at my house on the 13th July, so have some time yet to come up with some ideas. Would like to do some different things though, you know really make an effort seeing as it's for such a good cause.

Velvet cake?

I had never heard of that before, sounds perfect!
Is it better to get the red colour with food colouring, or with something ilke beetroot?

My other half used food colouring I believe. It was rather splendid.

Food colouring. It takes a lot and stains everything in sight, but the cake is fab.
