Off to FOS in the morning, and the Red Arrows are scheduled for a display at 11.30.

Now, Im actually quite excited about this, as Ive never actually seen them do a display, AND I will have my camera with me.

Any hints, tips and tricks on shooting the Arrows ?

Any idea where at Goodwood will give the best view of the display ?

Cheers in advance.

Long lens and get the exposure right. If you're shooting into the sky you will need to over expose the sky to get the correct exposure on the plane.

Stock exposure with aim for 18% grey and under expose the target.

Get in front of Goodwood house itself (or the lawns opposite). Last year I got caught on the hill and quite a lot of the time they were below the treeline so I was unable to see. I was a bit annoyed at the time but then realised I'd seen them about 3 times that year anyhow, so for once just watched the display rather than trying to take pics.

You need to link to the individual images I think.

It's because you're linking to the web page not the actual image file. Nice photo.

Cheers Sam, I used the grab link bit on flickr, I can only see the farm5 bit if I edit the html tags. God knows why Flickr changed it , it worked fine before.
