Just trying to organise my photo's, I have a few thousand pictures I want to rename. At the moment they are all named, for example "NaNW_DSC_0014.DNG" through to "NaNW_DSC_2034.DNG"

What I want to do is knock off everything prior to the numbers and replace with a couple of letters.

Easiest way to do it?

Select all, rename to say pistonheads and it should be pistonheads (1) pistonheads (2) etc

Matt, can't do that as I want to be able to cross reference the raw files which use the last 4 digits, hence why I need to keep that bit.

Cheers chaps, will check those two out smile

Thats the easiest way, but which order does it do them in? Is it the way they are sorted at the time of doing it? If so, put them in date order before you do it
