I'm having a lot of issues with my laptop, its struggling to install the updates for windows, when i check the task manager the CPU is at 100% constantly, there are about 7 iexplore processes and 14 svchost processes, I've tried running different anti-virus software and none seem to find a issue, but when a new piece of software is installed or windows updates when the machine restarts it fails to start and ends up needing to be restored to a point before the install.

Any ideas?

Have you tried ending the 7 iexplore processes? Does it settle down then?

do these iexplores appear on startup (before you do anything, just log in)

configure windows update not to install automatically and install each update 1 by 1
