Forgive me if this is an FAQ, but is there an online directory that lists specialists? I'm starting the search for a TVR (S of some type I think), and its looking like I'm going to have to cover quite a few miles in order to find one..

As I'm a newbie, (bible on order), I'd like anything I get seriously intrerested in to be checked out by someone that knows what they are doing. Fine if I find one in Sheffield, (already found wedge automotive), but its looking likely I'll have a few long trips..

Alternatively, I've thought about dealers, but there doesn't seem to be much point in paying the extra for a warranty if the garage is 100 miles away.. Whats the general advice?

Thanks..

Simon.

Thanks.. Clickable maps were exactly what I was after..

Might have just found a car in town though. Should have taken a wander down the road before I posted..

I was in a similar position to yourself with regards to looking for a car the length and breadth of the country. In the end I used Rob Ingleby at www.findasportscar.co.uk , nice bloke, knows his way around the cars and will even do the negotiating for you, all for a nominal fee. Bottom line if he finds you a car that you buy, you pay if he doesn't you don't, no money up front.
The real plus is whilst I sat at home, he looked for a couple of months probably covered 1000 miles plus, dismissed half the cars by asking the 'right' questions on the phone and then test drove about 6 cars before giving me the verdict on what was the best one, I turned up at this point agreed with his verdict, bought the car! I doubt that I would have gone from the South coast up to York to try a car out on spec without getting the second opinion (first so to speak). Give him a ring can't hurt?

Wow - nice to know somebody is using the links. Hope you find them usefull.

Agree, Get a big Wedge, you know it makes sense

I'm just giving the Bristol website a Spring Clean and the maps of TVR specialists are being moved from the Home page to the Links page. This is to make room on the home page for more of Dan's animated Gifs; this one is the best yet and had me chuckling for ages. Should be 'up there' late tonight.

Thanks, loads here to keep me drooling until I find a car.. Excellent set of links. Guess my enthusiasm got the better of me and I didn't quite get round to looking through the site properly.. Ooops..

Having popped into wedge automotive I'm getting tempted by a wedge, but I think I may stick to an S. Just like the look of them.

On the other hand, I'd be inside looking out more than outside drooling over the car so maybe I'd better drive one or two of those too and see what I think..

If you do go for an S, get a V8S. You get all nearly all the gorgeous sound of the Big Wedge, but packaged in a nice curvy body.

Big Wedges sound the way they do because not only do they have that lurvly Rover V8, but they have no space for a proper exhaust
