We're having a bit of a shift on and need to rent our house out pretty sharpish, so was going to use an online company to do my energy performance certificate - are these acceptable for a letting agent?

I can't seem to find much info about them so don't know if it needs to be done in person or if the online versions are just as good?

Anyone got any experience with them?

Where are you in South West, if Bristol area, then I can suggest company at £50 per certificate.

Fairly certain they have to be done in person, as someone needs to go to the house.

I'd imagine you'll pay more using the online people.

There seem to be loads of people about now doing then for a decent price, I wouldn't pay anymore than £50ish.

I'd either google for local guys, or use https://www.epcregister.com/searchAssessor.html although a lot listed as covering your area will be miles away. Start at £25 and work up - someone will do it for that.
You'll even get it done for £15 now in some areas - that's the ridiculous rate some assessors are bidding for work at.
Whether it's worth the paper it's written on is another story, but hey, it's all insured, so just go for the cheapest.

Ah cheers guys, I'll have a look at that register and see what they come up with. From what I've worked out the online companies send local guys out to look at your place anyway, so I guess there's an additional fee from there - had a quote of £38 thus far, I'll see if any of the local guys match that.
