Good Day,

Noticed that there are several people here involved in Night Clubs and the associated leisure industry and I though I would see what's hot and what I should have on my club website. Currently it is pretty standard, but I am wondering if it is worth adding anything else, or just pretty much leaving as it is.

Current Website:
Contact, VIP Hiring, Location, Opening Times, Gallery (Facebook/ttter and so on).

New Website:
As current website plus...
Mobile Friendly Version (being implemented)
Streaming DJ's
Past DJ set playable
Webcam

Radical Website:
Just one page with contact details, all very sort of hush hush hand on the QT.

It's a pretty standard standard night club, so I am thinking I will just leave the website as is, with a mobile version as well. I don't think we are classy enough to pull of the radical website idea and I am not really sure that anybody would want to listen to the DJ sets afterwards.

Cheers,
smele.

I'd concentrate on getting people in through the door and keep them coming back.

Special nights, promotions, cheap booze etc.

Get a page there that they can print off, ten date stamps and it's free entry next time etc.

Unless you've got Pete Tong et al playing, you're right about people not wanting to download the music.

Without seeing the site it is hard to evaluate but broadly speaking the rule for you I would think is to engage! What do you want to achieve with the site? Is it aimed at attracting new punters, corporates, private hires, something else? Are you hoping the site itself will become a destination point?

There is a lot you can do, much of it not too expensive but it rather depends on what you are looking to achieve. Can you post a linky?

Even if people want to download the sets where do you stand legally on providing them for download?

The website is not up yet, it's pretty standard.

We had a little brain storming session and DJ sets was an idea. We have had some big names play but the rights issue is something we have not looked into.

Pretty sure I am just going stick with what we have at the moment. Not interested in lots of special offers, don't want to go down that route, we are more expensive and exclusive than the other club in town.

As far as I can see the mobile version of the website seems like the bast idea, lots of people with smart phones these days.

True, but a smart phone site needs a point! You can make it basically the same as the website of course but you can get a lot more creative. It is all down to the clients you are hoping to attract. Special offers at clubs can be a bad thing but m-ticketing and guestlists could be a nice way to go perhaps.
