My new C5 to be precise. I went to Germany this week to collect it and drove it back (600 miles, 4 Countries and used practically every mode of transport known to get there - except pushbike as I don't do bicycles). At least the car is now run in.
It is a 2003 (50th badged) yellow convetible with every option including BSMs (which I now think are great). So far it has cost only £1600 more than I sold my 2001 for (I have yet to give HM Government their 17.5% share) and it comes with a 3 year warranty which for me is a strong advantage over buying from the USA.
It is the car I've wanted for a long time and I should have bought one last year instead of my silver 2001. Some will say that I should wait for the C6 but I have my reasons. The important thing is that I am now like a pig in sh.........
Once the paperwork is sorted it will have an 04 reg so if anyone has some useful suggestions for a plate let me know (BLO 4WAY is too many £££s as I will put my old personal plate back on when the retention certificate expires next year)

congratulations on your new purchase the car sounds very nice indeed, i will be changing my c5 for a zo6 later this year, a c6 purchase for me is about 3 years away, due to finances and not wanting to purchase a car built in its first year.

Congratulations ! What a brilliant excuse for a trip around europe, don't know if I'll be able to make a trip to Sea View on Sunday but I presume you'll be there.

Tristram etc
Probably won't take the car to Sea View this Sunday as it isn't registered yet, but it will be at the Fish Inn, Ringwood on Sunday for the monthly South Coast CCCUK meet - it would be great if some of you guys could make it. Have just finished cleaning it as it rained all the way back from Germany. Have gone off those BSMs a bit as they are a sod to polish round. Never mind, they came with the car and are staying on despite various suggestions that they simply give up and fall off when threatened with fishing wire and a hairdrier.

There's a yellow vert at Billing every year. Very popular colour these days. Looks stunning but always think that the red rocker cover on the Z06 versions clashes with the yellow paint.

Just seen this on the Viper section and as you've just got yours from Germany I think you'll enjoy it, especially no. 12:

German handbooks only are been printed by US manufacturers coming to europe to save costs, so please get used to seeing the following technical terms:

1) Die BlinkenLeiten Tickentocken = Indicators

2) Pullknob und KnuckleChoppen = Auto Bonnet

3) Der Spitzenpoppenbangentuben = Exhaust

4) Das Kulink mit Schlippenundshaken = Clutch

5) Der Phlatt mit Bloody fukken = Puncture

6) Der Twatten mit Elplatz = Learner driver

7) Das Bagsaroomfurshagginkin = Estate car

8) Der Flippenflappenschitspreader = Wipers

9) Der Klunkenklinkenfrauleinstrappen = Seat belt

10) Das Buch fur Aresewipen = Highway Code

11) Die Dippenuntdazzel Eiblinden = Headlights

12) Der Pedalpuschinpilloken = Cyclist

13) Der Fukkengratentrucken = Truck

14) Der Banananwaltzen = Skid

15) Das Fukkennearenschitzenselfen = Near accident

Blimey, could have used most of those on the way back. If I'd known about these phrases I wouldn't have needed my daughter's German/English dictionary. We travelled through Germany, Belgium, Holland and France and didn't need to utter one word of foreign language - one of the few joys of being English I suppose (i.e. lazy bast**d).

Richard, was really impressed with your new C5 today, I think I want one now...

Anyone trade for a knackered ZR-1, only 43,000 dragstrip miles?

BTW Tristram, Heike says 'Yu vill not be rrrezieving a Chrrristmas kart frrrom me anymohr!' Now you've gone and done it...

Congrats Richard,It'll just keep getting better the longer you have it. Should make a great show on the Hants pitch at the Nationals this year, or will that now be the yellow perils pitch, as that seems to be becoming the colour of choice in your region?
