There is nothing 'ratty' about that car. It is a Hot Rod.

I wish people would understand that matt or satin black paint do not a Rat Rod make.

It is entirely possible to get a hot rod through an IVA, I know of several.

You WILL end up running a Q registration though, there is absolutely no way around it.

That's a very cool looking car. Its got a very "get out of my way" look to it.

Looking at all those sharp pointy edges. I'd say it'll struggle to pass an IVA. If it needs one.

Which bits are from 1942? Chassis, cab, Front suspension, engine & box?

If the vehicle has been modified prior to importation it will be sent for NIVA (Normal Individual Vehicle Assessment) and will have to meet full modern safety specifications as if it was a new car.

Seriously good luck, we need more noisy V8s on the road. thumbup

Very cool!

If I was being picky I'd like to see the radiator grill behind the front axle line and the 'hood' binned, but that's the great thing about hot rods they are all different.

AND WILL BE REGISTERD WITH AGE RELATED PLATE.
No, it won't. As a modified car, it won't have the same exemption a factory car would, and therefore will have to be IVAd. Anything IVAd gets a Q-reg.

The car you imported two years ago was before the IVA was in force.

PS - Stop shouting.

Not true, as an example. Eric Clapton (yes the guitar guy)imported his newly built 50 Ford custom recently. That was granted an age related plate. I have also have a number of other friends who have done the same thing.

As long as they had the original registration documents they were able to get an age related plate

My thoughts too.
Nice enough motor, just looks lame imho.
