I’m guessing it’s that time of year when Her Maj is running a finger down the list of failed politicos, civil grease monkeys and military has-beens with a view to laying the old knighting sword on their shoulders.

So, who do we think should get a royal doffing? You can keep it PH, and my vote would be for

Sir Nigel of Mansell

or you can go non PH, and I’d like to see

Dame Joanna Lumley

or you could go bizarre…

Sir Noddy Holder

Anyway, your thoughts for people who should be knighted please.

Knighthood -
Frank Williams
Ron Dennis

Not a Knighthood but Adrian Newey has had a decent year and has been doing OK for a few years now.

Has Bernie got anything? Controversial I know but he is a very successful man even if very few people like him..

The chap who was on radio 2 last week who was in one on the carriages on 7/11 and dragged a few folk out, then stayed with a woman who was trapped.
An 'ordinary' bloke who did far more than he had any right to, given that he is a civilian with no training on what to do in that type of situation, and just got on with it.
Must have been horrendous, hence he is my nomination.
Not handing them out to someone just for being good at what they do- especially sir Elton.

George Cross for that sort of thing isnt it? Utmost gallantry when not actually engaged with the enemy taking fire.

Id take a GC over a Knighthood everyday.

Frank Williams already is a Sir. Can you be knighted again? Sir, and Bar?

Most of them will be political donors with a handful of token celebrities to keep the sun readers happy.

Hmmm who to pick...

Don't be so bloody silly, hero he might be, but unless he's made a donation to the party in power, he can forget it.

Or am I just too cynical?

shuldent knighthood be reserved for warriors!

all these people who have been knighted need to go find a dragon to slay or have their knighthood revoked imo!
