My favourite Douglas Adam's book has finally been adapted for TV ... I heard this trailer last night (was in the kitchen and could hear the TV) so went looking for it on youtube this morning:

Hmm, I've got the audio book, and the cast (Harry Enfield, and the hobbit who wasn't on Lost) suited it perfectly, it'll be interesting to see how this goes.

Quite enjoyed that. Is it a one off or a series?

One off pilot, though hoping the BBC commission a series on the back of it. Fingers crossed.

I enjoyed it, but it did have that dr who/sherlocks holmes kinda feel to the cinematography.

Thanks, yes def hope they go for it. I read the books many years ago so only have a vague recollection. Liked the way they subtley updated things such as email rather than letter.

Brown Princess though, rofl

Fantastic, caught it last night repeating after 12pm so sky plussed it and watching now. I think those books are what got me fascinated about quantum physics.

Hmmm. I didn't see this, I didn't know it was on, but having read the book I'm not sure I would have bothered. Douglas Adams magnum opus was "hitch-hiker's guide" IMO and that was it..

Not bad but it would have been nice if they'd had a go at making something based on the book rather than just using all the character names and a completely different plot.

Missed this. I liked the actor in Adrian Mole. I'll see if it's repeated.

After HHGTTG (the books) I thought Dirk Gently sucked when I read it so I didn't give this a look tbh.

Thought it was good although, as others have said, lots of characters from the book missing. They should have had an electric monk!

Only real issue for me (without a major spoiler) was the longevity of an iphone battery....

Hope it gets comissioned as a series though.

I really liked this. After the steaming turd that was the hitch-hikers film it was a pleasant surprise!

Just watched it bounce Bloody fantastic! I want MORE!!

Never read the books or radio play (if there was one) but I loved the odd quirkiness of it all. And the Princess just set it off for me. Brown as well (I had a gold one boxedin).

Kept looking for the next episode ..... and nothing grumpy
