Well, a first for me, been to a good 100 or so race meetings over the years,
never had rain stop play.

Excellent win for Michael Caine in his return with David Mason charging hard behind.

Lee Caroline was out of it in about sixth IIRC, his car certainly looked very sideways
a lot of the time!

Well done to Nathan Freke who had an excellent debut.

Nice race long battle between 'the boss' and Andy Holden with them changing
places most laps.

Such a shame the plug got pulled for race two.

Anyway, getting the 'bug' for this now, so see you all again soon I hope.

Jamer - you had the right idea mate.

Doh, silly me, David not 'Brian' was second.
Brian Mason plays ice hockey!

Must be water on the brian or is it brain?

Not the best weekend for Chris Stockton. However Graham and Andy have improved the car and Chris is happy with the handling. We were ready for the 2nd race and were in good shape. Gearboxes were a problem! The first one was destroyed by a stuck trottle and Chris only had 5th gear for the whole of race 1.

Good to see Andy and the Old guy(forget his name ) battling it out most laps, good racing.
Got bloody soaked and glad we left as kinda thought it may get rained off, it was sitting pretty deep on the track in places.

Cheers Ed. Sounds good.

I think the rain killed off lots of meet ups, although I had an amusing phone
conversation with Jamer from all of 10 feet.

Lots of frantic waving to other owners on the way out of the paddock and then there
is that Swordfish Tuscan sent from above to follow me...

Wouldn't you know it - I don't have a bloody race results sheet. Sorry! Can't believe I didn't pick one up.

Thanks Jeremy. I didn't realise the MST guys were quite so quick off the mark!!

I had a great race with PW, we both enjoyed it Shame about my shiny new paintwork though - Mr Wheeler has a blue front corner and I have a slightly rippled effect on my rear wing. I don't have the heart to tell Ewelme Coachworks after the fantastic job they did on the car at virtually no notice. Shameless plug for a great job!

My first time racing in the wet - it was tricky! 450bhp + water is, err, interesting!!

Thanks to all those who turned out to watch. Sorry we didn't get out for the second race. John Reid from TVR Motorsport had a large group of hostile race drivers at him when he said the race was cancelled - we all wanted to get out there but, on reflection, as the rain came down even harder, it was a good call.

We now have 3 races at Snetterton to catch up...

Wasn't there but had to laugh at the MST reporting the conditions as Weather = Cloudy and the Track = Dry

Obviously not then, must get to some meeting this year.

Well, from the state of my bodywork, I can confirm that is was definitely not dry at any point on the track on Sunday.

Gutted, as we all got away from the line in the Ginettas really well. Being a gentleman, and concious of the complete lack of grip, I settled in behind the guys in front, who hadn't really stormed off the line, down the pit straight for about 150m. Aparenely a nudge on the back was the reason that the next thing that I knew was that I was hurtling towards the wall rather too quickly.

Fair play to the car though, apart from a bonet, and a couple of lugs, the only thing to go was the top rose joint on the syspension.

After Andy last week, let's just hope that these things don't come in threes.

He was standing in for Richard Stanton. Ben told me he got the drive because he had not sold his "DeWalt" overalls! Hopefully we might see more of him.

Sorry to hear that Richard. Us racing PHers are having a rotten run of luck! Sorry not to have caught up with you. We were lucky enough to get pit garages for the weekend, and with the rain we didn't venture out much. Well at all actually!

Once again I had every intention of getting around to saying hello - overheating problems all day Satudray and unfortunately by 10:00 on Sunday I had other things on my mind. .

Still, It's amazing what you can do with two rolls of tank tape - I got off very lightly - apart from the bonet, I'm down a lower wishbone and a rose joint. Bit pissed off about rear bodywork damage (complete with another competitors paint :grr though.

Photos on the car preparation thread are an inspiration though .

I was glad to see you got out for race 2 Richard - the car looked good from the Woodcote grandstands!

I was hoping to drop by again to see how you got on, but keeping dry became my main priority!
