Just received a reply to my email regarding the 1967 427 vette on Ebay - after Ebay have withdrawn the sale too:

The email I received features a lot of copied text from the ad anyway plus the "seller" says the car is in Italy (funny the ad said something about Germany?) asking for 20% of the money up front. Here's the whole message if anyone wants to read it: Interesting point is the "seller" states "the car doesn't appear to have been in any accident" yet in his reply to me states he is "the original owner". Surely he'd know if it's been in an accident or if he's the only owner?"

Here's the reply I got - LOOK OUT FOLKS!

Hi,
Im very glade you are interested on my car. Some words aboute 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe .The car is in mostly original condition.Car was painted about 20 years ago to the original color of Marlboro Maroon. Paint was recently color sanded and brought back. Engine was also rebuilt at the time of the repaint and about 3000 miles have been placed on the car since. Brakes have been recently gone through.Has the 427/390 engine and manual transmission. Chassis # 194377S112959 - Body# S4076 - Paint# 988AA - Trim: STD - Engine # TO303IL - Engine Casting # 3904351. This is a great, very clean and for the most part all original car. From the looks of the body and frame, it does not look like this car has ever been in any kind of an accident or had any type of serious bodywork done. The car is in excellent driving and running condition.I prefer to let you know all the details about this auction and about this deal so everything to be just fine. The car is in Milan(Italy).Im the first owner and i have all the papers you will need to register the car in you country. The price €11500 are incluted shipping and all taxes.
20% prior to shipping
80% after you receive and inspect the car

Delivery Estimated Time: 5 days
Shipping Service: International FedEx Freight (door to door)
Inspection Period: 7 days
The freight costs are supported by me. My company works with FedEx Italy and they offered us a disscount of 76.5% from the amount of the shipping, I will support the balance and this is the main reason I want to use FedEx as a shipping service. You will not have to pay additional taxes. The car will be insured and crated on the tranport. Once again, you will not have to pay anything regarding the shipping.
20% from the amount must pe paid prior to shipping and 80% after you receive and inspect the car. I know you need a bill of sale and the original title and it will be no problem, once you receive the car, you will receive the bill of sale and the original title as well so you can register the car on your name (all the paperwork will be shipped next day air).

If the car is what you are looking for and if you agree with these conditions then I will be glad to close this deal with you.

I will be waiting your email.

Yeah, I got a very similar reply earlier in the week regarding the black car that's been on a couple of times, even down to the 76.5% or whatever he says... must be the same person putting them all on... wonder if they ever get any takers?

Hi everyone.

This isn't a scam, let me make that quite clear. No sirree. What I'm selling is a genuine Ferrari Muira, one of Maserati's finest cars. Basically, the car has been stored for 14 years in an old budgie cage down the railway line. It was fully restored in 1996 by a small boy chained to a lump of concrete using only a Dremel. 20% of the sale procceds will be donated to a charity and you will also adopt an elephant in Australia where they are now very threatened with extinction. The price is £8.50 which is the initial deposit on the full asking price of £650. Yes, I know it's a lot but think of that small boy. The elephant you sponsor will be shipped to you via first class Royal Mail for two weeks every year and the car will be a timeshare exclusively in your name and the others involved in the pyramid selling scheme.

So invest now in this fine automobile and I promise, I swear this isn't a scam. the car is in Papua, New Guinea and will be shipped via UPS. Please, if you have any questions, mail me at ScamMan@Scamnet.doh and I will return all your e-mails "Sender unknown". I don't know if I mentiioned this wasn't a scam.
