Pentax K-x users?

Been looking at dslr for the 500 mark, and G2 panny or canon 450d, now I have seen the Pentax through PC world on same, and it gets some good reviews, just the lack of af point in the viewfinder worries me. Any thoughts on Pentax in general and lens availabilty and prices?

I own the Pentax K10D and absoloutly love it. I don't know if it is just my poor searching skills but I find that most new Pentax fit lens' don't appear to be as well advertised as the likes of canon and nikon, and the pentax lens' always seem to be that bit more expensive. Im kind of hoping someone replys and puts me wrong because Im dying for a new lens at a decent price. The Pentax K mount does have it's advantages though, you can use any past K mount lens on your dslr that came off the film cameras and they are considerably cheap and quite a few on ebay. I got a 70-200mm for £15 delivered and works a treat.

Hi Mate, I've had a K-x since october. Got the twin lens kit, bag, batteries and memory card for about 570. I am more than happy with it. And as i was used to not having the af points highlighted on my old Pentax MZ-50 i dont find it a problem. Also the old lenses for my film camera work fine, as long as you leave the apperture ring on 'A'.
As to your comment on pentax lenses not being advertised as much. This is simply because Nikon and Canon sell more dslr's than Pentax. Most 3rd party lenses that are available for Nikon/Canon are also available for Pentax. There are also a lot of older lenses that work fine available on certain auction sites. How ever you may have to get used to working the camera in manual mode on some of them.

its cheap is my dilema, or i can have a second hand nikon 80d with 18-135 nikkor lens....
