Morning lads/lassies.

After an off last year, i've just convinced my fiance to let me get another bike (our funds are combined due to wedding saving).

I did have an A1P ZX6R and absolutely loved it, im 6'2 so the size of the bike suited me well.

To cut a long story short, at an absolute push, i have 4k to spend on a sports 600.

I was thinking about the B1H ZX6R (2005) as it seems to be the last model before the 600's seemed to shrink. Anyone have any experience of this bike?

I know the right thing to do is arrange test rides and try for myself, but a serious lack of time on my hands (working 6days) means my only free day is spent with the fiance.

Any recommendations or personal experiences are greatly appreciated.

Stephen.

Everything I've read about that model suggests that it's a great track weapon, but is a bit too firm for the road. That's all I really have to offer though.

Depends on where or how you ride....

I get the impression that you a Kawasaki man, so for the road I'd look for a C1H/C6 05/07. Great all rounder with the extra grunt on the road makes for easy riding with all day comfort.

As Steve had mentioned the B1H feels that bit sharper and more track focused..

I terms of size, I found the C6 larger that the B1H, As I'm only a stumpy short arse I found the dimensions slightly to large to throw around on track. but a mate who's your size had no problems and could press on all day without an issue.

Can't really fault either.....

B1H still has a fairly 'cramped' riding position.
One of the reasons I chose my GSXR1000 is that it's got about the most 'relaxed' riding postion on the modernish (mine's 06) litre bikes - while the GSXRs used to be the 'extreme' choice they're not relatively more 'all round' - I got mine for commuting through Reading.

A mate of mine has a rizzla rep K5 with power commander, full exhaust and a few trick bits and its an absolute animal. Its also a pretty decent ride and the the torque is just outstanding.

Sadly the only problem for me is insurance. With only 2years (on the road) riding experience and only one years no claims, the quotes ive been getting have been well outwith my financial limit.

As much as i love trackdays (all 5 of them), im not sure i want to buy a bike so suited to the track, so maybe have to re-think the B1H choice and consider the C1H.

Any one else think that there seems to be a real lack of quality second hand stock around at the moment, when compared to this time last year?

dunno, seems to be loads around here , but prices seem to be quite high. wether it's selling at those prices , i don't know...........think at the end of the day everything comes down to your personal choice . i can suggest this and that, and perhaps they're not bikes you've considered but it it still comes down to an individual choice....personally i'd go for a mint "classic" that'd be more comfy, more fun ,cheaper on insurance etc e.g. early blade, late yzf750r, r-1 or sumsuch

Also - I don't reckon you'll get any kind of straight K5 for £4K.
