About to change my P0´s for Bridgestone S02´s. Everyone seems to go for the 225 rather than 205´s. Is this because of having to use 195´s on the front. I don´t want to spoil my fun with too much grip at the back. Anyone tried with S02 205´s? I´m off to the Nurburgring next week and don´t want to throw it into a wall either.

Thanks

Grip on the Bridgestones is superb compared to the P0's

I have an S2 so no direct experience, but the consensus I've seen is that 185/205 or 195/225 provide the best balance.

That's right, if you put 225's on the rear you MUST go for 195 at the front or you will bugger up the car's balance.
My recommendation is the Yokohama Advan Neova LTS. Superb tyres.

Thanks for the advice. It looks like I'm snookered though. I can't get a hold of any 225 S02's. I've got tons of tread left on the front with the P0's. I'm thinking of putting 205 S02's on the rear which are availiable (in Holland). According to here www.biggoodbuy.com/southrun/tyres.asp its not a problem. I reckon by the time the rears are ready for replacement again I'll be able to do all four.

If you can possibly afford it, ditch your front P0s and upgrade all four at the same time, you can easily sell them to someone to trash on track. That's what I did.
You won't regret it!

Well the saga has almost reached its conclusion. Having removed both rear tyres, the dealer discovers he doesn´t have 205/50 S02´s, he only has 205/55´s. So I ended up with Goodyear Eagle F1´s on the front. I wish it had ended there, upon putting the car up on the hoist we notice very little tread on the inner part of the fronts and lots on the outside.

Dealer has no tyres for the front. I get a wheel realignment done, miles out. Sure enough the handling of the car has completely gone away now, due to the alignment being correct now and the tyres being out of wack. So now I need to look for some F1´s for the front tomorrow and check the alignment to make sure the tyre dealer didn´t botch it - its all got to come together for the Nurburgring next week...
