Well me and the other half are searching for a new car and seeing as its the first brand new car we have ever bought we are taking time to check out all the cars and test them to see what we like and dont like ( Now working off shore so cant come to the rescue if our current car breaks down) . Called arnold clark to view and roadtest two cars on our list the new punto evo abarth and the ibiza cupra dsg, now i called arnold shark during the week to set up appointments to view and roadtest the cars ( I live and work in aberdeen and both dealers are in glasgow) now viewed the punto first and drove it so all was well to begin with, now onto seat to test a car i have wanted to drive for ages. Greeted by a very nice looking car saleswoman who showed me round the car in the showroom but the colour didnt suit the other half, but they did have a white used boccenegra in stock, so down to the nitty gritty talking money. Now I am ideally after just the plain ibiza in white with xenons and glassroof and i also show her a online quotation i got from car finders and could they match it whilst i was on roadtest..........yes no problem they would try, ten minutes later she returned ( still at her desk awaiting roadtest)..........No they cant and will not even attempt to get close to the offer( her sales managers advice was to buy the car if it really was that cheap) and the car that is still on the front line up for sale with no sold sticker on it is all of a sudden sold cause we dont want to buy that exact car, cheers for that. I used to work for arnie over five years ago and i should have known better as their mentallity back then was its our way or highway, things have not improved but the most annoying bit is mr shark is getting bigger and bigger leaving few choices. So If i want a test drive in a cupra ibiza ( I am 33 so not some we chavvy boy racer) I need to find a non arnold shark dealer, yes seat is in aberdeen but specialist cars dont have one either, has anyone else experienced arnies awesome customer service

Hate to be a grammer nazi, I've never picked anyone up on here before, but I really couldn't read that.

Next time break it up into paragraphs and sentences with a clear beginning and end.

Thanks.

2 second job

To answer yes had the displeasure of going into the one in Edinburgh where they tried to bate another customer and me into bidding on a Golf gti on opposing desks..... lol... i smiled and walked.

Oh and whilst having a test drive of a Abarth SS the manaer comes across and asks why the heck did the salesmen agree to pay for rectifying bonnet damage. Turned out a mechanic had dropped a spanner on the hood scratching it even still the manager said can the customer prove that!!!! Agian i laughed and thought at least i was taking a cheeky test drive of the 500 and not buying from them

+1

I really tried to read it but it's just far too hard sorry.

Edit, thanks for the person who made it easier to read wink

With AC I've always had no problems with the sales side, servicing is another issue and I will never use them again for that. They are often the cheapest price around when I look and offer a fair trade in, negotiating the price depends on how in-demand the car is I suspect.

Sorry to the grammer police as you can tell i am still very very annoyed. We didnt even get shown out to the used bocca to see if it suited our needs as the spec was less than what we wanted, but we could have been flexible for the right deal, but it seemed like we got up their noses, because we didnt want to deal there and then.

My main point being why allow me to book a time slot and roadtest, I was even told over the phone on thursday and then on friday that it was a stock car and WOULD be ok for roadtest as we were coming down from aberdeen first thing in the morning, if not no biggie we could have arranged to drive a ibiza fr at a non arnie dealer in glenrothes( main reason is to see how the other half likes the dsg box).

Their customer service is truely st, the customer is the one that needs to jump through the hoops. We were in at audi (specialist cars aberdeen) last weekend driving the new a1 s-line manual and the complete sales experience could not have been any better, didn,t have to ask for the test drive as it was offered after speaking to the salesman about the car and getting the brochure

Specialist Cars in Aberdeen have a brilliant reputation, never heard a bad word about them and know a few people who won't use the more local VW dealer but are more than happy to take a day off work to visit Specialist Cars.

The problem with AC is that some branches are better than others, I've heard great things about the Mazda one in Aberdeen but my local one has a bad reputation. To be fair though most of the staff in my local one have changed about 20 times in the last 10 years so it's not really the same branch any more.

It's the only place I use for hire cars though so it's not all bad.

When i worked with arnie as a nissan hi-tech i would pride myself on ensuring my small team of nissan mechs done everything to 110 percent,we shared a workshop with renault and it was like night and day.
Things got done right first time and on time, I would take time to speak directly with customers and build up strong relationships with them, to the point where they would only ask for me. But looks like its all about profits now and fk customer relations, glad I am now away from the whole industry............give me a oil rig anyday of the week.

Doesnt help me though in getting a new car
