Interesting decision and somewhat unexpected. It buggers up the plans of those who raced at Silverstone but were not intending to go to Knockhill.

And it appears our 18 mile Silverstone 'Feature' race has now become a 13 mile Sprint race.

It also makes tyres difficult. I had to test on my Silverstone tyres at Croft because Dunlop did not attend the test to swap some old tyres onto the rims. I wasn't overly concerned because I could buy 4 new tyres at Knockhill, then choose the best of my used tyres for the Silverstone re-run at Snett. Now I'll have to run with the best of what I've got 'in stock' now'.

Good news for Scottish TVR folk though

Possibly not accidental that though. As has been pointed out on the PistonHeads report of the weekend, North is not good for Tuscan grids . Putting the extra race up in Scotland could generate a couple more entries, and sure up the continuance of the series with F3/GT.

Actually managed to watch all of the second race on Sunday. There really is nothing like it, some other series may have more speed, some more overtaking, some more finesse, but those cars are just brutal!

That did cross my mind. I think it is crap to do it at this short notice. You can't just 'pop along' to Knockhill - I'm having to take 2 days off work just to get there and back, and there will be some who hadn't planned to go who simply won't be able to give up the time.

They are actually fairly easy to drive. Its driving them quickly that's difficult!!! Once you get used to them moving around under you, they are awesome. If a little tricky in the wet!

I think it was Laurence Tomlinson (RSR, TVR R400 and raced a Radical at Croft) who said on Saturday "There is no other race car that is as much fun to drive as the Tuscan".

I watched the Ginetta's, but had forgotten which number you were Rich. There was a wide variety in racing ability on the grid - the guy in the 'Celebriddy' Gran Turismo car looked way out of his league. They looked fun, but like they need another 20-30bhp to make them a bit more twitchy!

When stalking the Tiger, it helps to think like he does, and when he bites you in the arse, at least you were ahead of him, allbeit that you didn't allow for the fact that his needs come first, for he is the king of his jungle, and you are.......lunch.

Ere, ow cum we only have 8 entries at Knockhill

Tis a long way, and most of the drivers are skint, what with engine leases and entry fee's etc

Buggur that, change race we missed at Silverstone, move it to Knockhill, that will get em sorted

We can't do that, it will cause problems for all soughts of people, with time off, budgets and......

Grrrrrrrrrr

Is that the one you can't tell whether you're in first or not, and that causes you to miss gears?

Nope. 29 very kindly gave me a box to use as a spare.

Both mistakes my fault. First is a bit notchy - should have gone into second then into first - a bit like selecting reverse in the road car boxes. The trouble is you are a bit worried about the passage of time when the 5 second board goes up and don't think stright! I won't do that again!

And the missed gear could have been a lot worse. Mr Stockton went for third and got 1st. I don't think he has 1st anymore

Number 19:-
.
Didn't race particularly well - and still have overheating probelms (giving me soemthing to do between the races ), so not such a bad thing that I was incogneto .

I have managed to convince one of the quick guys to do a few laps in my car with the logger on to try and find a bit in the driver too .

I'd go along with a bit more horsepower - but don't need them any more twitchy - it's quite nice that you have to be a bit rough with them to get them going quick! Besides, a spin on the last lap turned an acceptable finish into a dreadful one on Sunday . All good fun though .

Hui and Neil have to sit this race out as they were not at Silverstone. Maybe they should be marshalls or drive the course cars!

Any other ideas?

If I were them I would take the opportunity to relax and have a small beverage especially after signing on at 7.15am!
