Currently my VFR is filthy, the exhaust is covered in road crud, and the swingarm/centrestand etc is covered in black gunge.

Can someone recommend products to me that work that are available on the high street? I have a bad back so hours of scrubbing is off the cards.

Failing that, anywhere in the NorthWest that 'details' bikes? I'm selling it so need it looking good smile

Milltek recommend Brasso metal polish (the tin of wadding kind) for cleaning stainless steel and chromed exhausts. I would imagine there will be some motorbike equivilent of Muck-Off to shift the crap, use that and then polish the exhaust to a shine.

Paraffin, petrol, WD40, Gunk, white spirit. They'll all dissolve the oily stuff.

White spirit with a paint brush to shift the black gunge. Fairy liquid in warm water to shift the white spirit and the rest of the road grime. Mr Sheen and a dry cloth to put a shine on everything except the tyres, unless the new owner haggles you too hard.

Why all the hate for Hein Gericke?
My limited experience popping into their Leeds branch has been nothing but positive.

Apologies if this has been covered before. New to BB.

On a side note, does anyone know what's best for de-whitening slightly salted bolts? Obviously ACF-50 in advance would've been the ideal prevention…

I'd rather not say why personally as it's probably against PH rules!

Try one in Lemon juice?

Failing that, Screwfix are cheap for s/steel bolts. About £3 for a bag of 50.
