TVR at Monza
Frustrations for both teams
Two TVRs competed at Monza last weekend in the Le Mans Endurance Series 1000km race.
Synergy Motorsport fielded a team of Bob Berridge, Chris Stockton and Michael Caine, all keen to get some lapping done before the Le Mans 24 hours.
The car didn't survive though with clutch problems forcing a retirement after 42 laps. The winning GT car - a Porsche 911 GT3-RSR - completed 151 laps.
The De Walt/Peninsula TVR (John Hartshorne/Graeme Mundy/Richard Stanton) managed 101 laps but wasn't classified. It suffered a punctured oil cooler.
Former TVR racer Martin Short finished fifth overall in his Dallara with help from Rob Barff and Joao Barbosa.

Well I guess Synergy would rather find out these problems before Le Mans.
It would be interesting to know what casued the clutch to fail?
Well done once again to the Rollcentre team.
Annoying how it's always bought in parts that seem to fail on the "Big" TVR race cars.
Harsh on them, trying to get rid of the reliabity preconception hanging over their, um, heads and it's a third party's "fault" as such.
Oh well, echo the point about now rather than later. Qualifying proved the car was fast.
