SPORTS CAR A WRITE-OFF
Pop star George Michael is lucky to be alive after he wrote off his BMW on a dual carriageway.
The singer lost control of the £34,000 soft-top on the A40 in Acton, west London, and crashed into railings.
The BMW Z4's airbags inflated, saving the 40-year-old from serious injury.
The Daily Star told how the police were called even though no other car was involved, but no charges are being considered.
The paper quoted a friend of the singer as saying: "George was very shaken, but amazingly he somehow escaped unhurt.
"The car was a write-off and had to be taken away.
"George had to call a taxi to take him to where he was going."
