Gagging above 3500rpm

My 1993 S3C gaggs under very hard acceleration over 3500rpm in any gear. It will happily go over 3500rpm in any gear under mild acceleration but when flooring it it gaggs as soon as you it 3500rpm. Has anyone else had this or got any ideas of the best place to start looking. Thanks............Andy

suggest you check your ht leads

Weak spark would do this. Spark trace might prove/disprove whether it is this. Otherwise, possibly knackered fuel pump or blocked filter? Fuel pressure test?
