Guys n Gals

Need to sell my S, tried it on here and on Boxa.net but no luck so gonna have to try autotrader or sell to a dealer.

What do you think I should be able to get for her?

2001 Y Reg Lapis Blue with Blue hood and interior. 1 owner. Silver Rollbars and Centre Console. Sports exhaust, Computer, Heated Seats, 6CD Hifi Sound, New Tyres and 27k miles.

BTW do any of you have experience selling cars on ebay ? Do you think this is a good route for me to go?

Thanks

Autotrader or ebay?

I bought mine off Autotrader and it was a very smooth sale. On the negative side, a friend had a brand new convertible Audi A4 taken off his drive.

Scrote came round to have a look. Mates missus was showing them round. Put the keys in to show all the electrics working and scrote pushed her out of the way and drove off.

I would photograph it somewhere neutral and arrange a viewing in the car park of the local plod station. THat should keep the chav element at bay.

Not trying to alarm you, but offer both sides of the coin. Dealer will kill you on price.

Thanks.

Ive seen his on ebay.
Just wondering the success ratio of people who have "completed sales vs. had winning bids but no show".
Also what do you reckon on whats a fair price?

rumbletumble,
I bought my 2001 Y reg Boxster S from an OPC in December for 29 grand. It had 31K miles, but a great spec.....basalt black, full leather, 18" wheels etc.
I still think that was cheap for an OPC (the sticker price was 29,995....and it was up for 32,500 a few weeks before) but it shows you what can be done.
I think you have priced the car fairly at 28 grand, I assume you would chop a grand off at the haggling stage? This means the car would be sold at 27,000 which is definitely a fair price.
I suggest putting it up for £27,500 and waiting. You will still get 27 grand or just under. If you put it up for a grand less (ie 27 grand), it would sell very quickly. Perhaps putting it up for £26,995 (as opposed to 27,000 which looks more!!) will get you a very quick sale.
Remeber though, it is summer, and I think you will have interest very soon. Put it in Top Marques / Autotrader.

Thanks for your input guys.
Been made an offer for it (27k) by a dealer so unless someone betters it it should be gone by the w/end.
