I loved Mr. Callaghan's comments that overtaking accidents happen most often on straight bits of road (to paraphrase). Funny, aircaft take off and landing accidents happen most often on runways, how surprising.
They need baiting and after putting both feet in on overtaking safely on straight roads, they tried to say that it's the dips in the roads which cause the accidents. Then they said that the dips have double white lines. Then one of their police officers said that it was best to overtake as quickly as possible. Then Mr. C. said that you shouldn't overtake if you could not do so without exceeding 60 mph.
When it was pointed out that on a long straight you would have to lift-off during the overtake to stay within 60 and thus be on the wrong side of the road for longer he said that was stupid.
Come on, lads, register on there and give them some more stick on this. It's just what they deserve!
There is another good thread about a stolen speed camera as well.

) They sat down together the other day and decided to make Steve "cough and splutter a bit!"
They are getting claws into our Steve on the "Non compliance" thread!

They asked him to define COAST and told him it does not stand for "Caught Out At Speed Trap!" either!
Programmes about increased hit and runs are "nonsense". They got him to contradict himself (and it appears to be easy to do so) on the thread about tickets and emergency vehicles, and he dismissed their post about driver education as "sheer nonsense not worth replying to" and edited a post that contained naughty words "blinkin' scams

They didn't like it when I described it as the Cumbria Silly Camera Partnership and have threatened all sorts of actions against me for my having a jammer.
JT seems to really get to the point and I love winding Steve Callaghan up until he trips over. JJ is quick on the case when it suits him, but is confrontational to the point of being silly, whilst Ian is a Mr. Plod who spouts the party line, but who, in reality, probably realises the truth of much of what we say. Ian has to protect his overtime sitting in the scammer van as well, and hates it when we say this.

Don't think he likes us either - but then they do not like common sense and find truth a bit hard to handle - look at what he said when he appeared on here!

Well, some (but by no means all) might start on the runway, but they most commonly finish up (the "crash site") off the runway. Where did the accident "happen"?
I do not think it is accurate to draw any comparison between aircraft T/L crashes and (straight) road crashes.
A senior AAIB investigator remarked to me that the words of (Sir) Stirling Moss after his Goodwood crash resounded with him; Moss said (something along the lines of), "I veered across the track onto the grass, then back onto the grass on the other side, then back again, rode up the bank, turned over, came down, rolled again; then I lost control!"
