Paper driving licence .... still valid ?
Discussion
Hello chaps.
My wife still has her original non photo id, paper driving licence.
She was asked for her driving licence as id recently, and was told her licence is no longer valid, and she must apply for a photcard one asap.
I can find no mention of this on the DVLA website, they can you can change, but it doesn't say you must.
Anyone know for sure ?
(I think she was told this by her bank, before anyone asks lol)

The bank probably don't accept paper licences any longer as a form of id - hence why she was told it was not valid.
i.e. no longer valid as proof of id for the bank and not no longer valid a licence to to drive...
This.i.e. no longer valid as proof of id for the bank and not no longer valid a licence to to drive...
I don't see how a paper licence without a photo is proof of ID.

As mentioned above, it's still valid.
Mine was returned to me with points hand written on it earlier this year, so even that doesn't require a new licence.
Ah, I didn't realise that.Mine was returned to me with points hand written on it earlier this year, so even that doesn't require a new licence.

I have a paper licence. I gave up using it for ID years ago - if I know I'm going to need ID I take my passport...
LOL, strangely enough, banks don't accept passports (or that's my experience), because, it doesn't have your address on it !Gassing Station | Speed, Plod & the Law | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
