Looks like there's going to be some accountability in Gwent this week. Apparently the PCC has suspended Ch Cons Carmel Napier over her crime figures and expenses amongst other things. If it is true she has been fiddling the crime figures what is going to be done about this?

Surely the police don't lie about crime figures? A revelation like that would undermine many of the arguments serving officers make on PH.

You won't find the police you meet on the streets lying about crime figures, it'll be the pencil necked career minded toss pots that concern themselves with stuff like that

What kind of police were involved in Plebgate? I know Downing St isn't technically 'on the streets'- oh, hang on a minute, it is.
Fairly serious lies............... (allegedly, obviously)

Theyre weren't lying about crime figures, they were just lying about whether a crime took place or not. Just another day for many, Im sure.

You won't meet any of that lot on the street. They'll be too far up their own parts to go out doing real police work, much like their senior officers. The boys and girls going face to face with the general public are, for the most part, just going in each day to try and do a job to earn a living.
Sad when you have to try & persuade us of your honesty, isn't it?

I don't think he has missed it, it just takes longer to Photoshop something then spell check his response!
You have to admit that claiming to have a £1 million ANNUAL turnover then be shown to have nowhere near that, is a major error to have to excuse... it takes time to invent a response that shows it was not his doing, and was all a big misunderstanding.
It's not a little thing like telling the court you are a member of a professional body when you haven't been for 4 years!

It's taken me a while to respond to this as i've had to find time to read at least some of this lengthy document.

Excellent. While much of what it states may well be true the bulk of it is in fact opinion. Right from the outset it was clear that this was a far from objective report, The title being 'The case against ACPO', despite the subheading 'A critical look at ACPO'. It was far from critical and came across just as the title suggests, a one sided view of the situation.

So it expanded my knowledge in that it gave me one side of the arguement but no balance, no objectivity etc. Plenty of hyperbole though.

Creative accounting. It has been going on for decades.
