Followed the above said vehicle through east London this morning. He was doing 40-45 mph through all of the 30 limits and then proceeded to jump a red light in front of me just where the entrance to my office is.

The speed on the roads was not really a problem but it annoyed me to think that during the day today the driver will be recording the details of vehicles commiting much less of an offence than he did this morning.

Anybody think it's worth writing a letter of complaint to anybody?

Although he will be exempt certain laws in the execution of his duties.....what you've described doesn't sound right....

He might be getting back to the office as his presence was required elsewhere on an emergency..but it's a thin chance...

Write a letter to the Chief Constable and although it will get nowhere near him/her, the offices below him/her will point the letter in the right direction.

It's just foolish to do anything silly in such a vehicle, because there will always be a Mrs Bucket who witnesses it and wants the officers blood..

Not inferring that you are like Mrs Bucket, you understand

The operator might be a Family Liaison Officer for example...or other such specialised duty that would pull him from camera operating to undertake..

Well he is reading between the lines. As they were bib, they were bound to be undertaking as well as eating a donut at the same time as well
