You're right...they need to all be out...then all the enforcement can be in the form of cameravans.....

That way, nobody knows where they might be parked...

Yeah I noticed my weekly commute the length of the A14 and M6 has become less fraught of late.

They seem to have pulled up a couple around Kettering too, but I just wish they'd get on and finish resurfacing the A14 and tear down the M6 (non-Toll) SPECS so I can get my journey time down below 3 hours.... without paying £3... mwah ha haaaaaaaaaaaa!

That Midland Expressway bit is ace though.

Thereby proving they're a miserable failure, as their purpose is to slow drivers down. Isn't it?

You've said some sensible stuff in the past, but lately, you seem to have lost the plot a bit. Speed kills Don't make me laugh. It's attitudes like this which are losing the rank and file support. I don't see the other PH BiB rallying round to support your viewpoint. Perhaps you are wrong?

How's the death toll lately, rushing down now we have all this hidden enforcement? Thought not. Perhaps it's because speed DOESN'T kill!

If you want to be an unpaid tax enforcement officer, it's your choice. If you want people with an ounce of intelligence to listen to you, get off the speed kills bandwagon before you become a laughing stock.

If speed killed, Concorde would be the most dangerous method of transport. And how many people have died on Concorde because of its speed.....?

However No Discretion does have a point, removing/destroying fixed cameras (no matter how amusing/rebellious it may be) will result in more plods with hair dryers sat by the side of the road.

At least fixed cameras don't move .....

I think you're right nonegreen.... I even know pensioners who despise Tony's little ruse. Then again, they have been around long enough to spot bull!

I went to Skegness today. Must have passed twenty of the hateful things. Sure felt like big brother was watching. If I felt it, so does the rest of the voting electorate.

Oh, and if speed kills, ask Ralf Schumacher. I'm sure his little 190MPH off might give him a different opinion. Speed cameras raise money, engineering solutions and good observation/anticipation saves lives. It's the truth and you know it is.

I was back at my parents' over Christmas for the first time in a while and noticed that that the nearest NSL to home (on a hill with bends ) is now a 40 all the way with SIX GATSOs on it. Of course, not one of the GATSOs is on the dangerous bit - the tightening downhill bend , where several blokes I knew at school lost it and hit the wall in the outside.

I think the current speed campaign is also coincidental with how we in England have developed financially...

I might be wrong with this idea, but here goes;

As a nation we are richer and have more opportunity to buy fast/expensive cars than we've ever had. Consequence, 17 yr olds are now driving about in decent motors...that accellerate quick etc..where at one time we would have had a hand-me-down Vauxhall Viva or even not had a car at all.
The youths nowadays don't seem to respect what they have....yes they polish them and look after them cosmetically, but the easy-come-easy-go mentality is rife. It's handed on a plate.

Same with people further up the age brackets....the ability with Hire Purchase, 0% finance, better wages etc etc means that performance cars are now well within the budget of the masses...where at one time only a small amount of people would drive such cars.

So we've now got roads full of decent and powerful cars and also a speed enforcement camera epidemic.

As much as I think speed cameras have their place...when sited correctly...I'm still 100% in favour of trafpol outnumbering cameras...for the reasons we all know....

Just when I think you've really lost the plot, and vow to not bother reading your posts, you come up with something sensible again...
