if someone was ordered to do comunity service , are the tasks/work given out local to where the offender lives or where the crime happened or how does it work

any rules on how far, the fella has concerns that he wont be able to get there as he doesnt drive

I'd guess 80% of those doing community service don't drive.
Bus. Taxi. Walk. Cycle. Lift. Train. Tube.

They even did a collection service in my town once. Bus went round picking everyone up. Tell him to phone his probation officer, if he has one, and ask them.

I'm not surprised he has concerns. I think he should be demanding some compensation for the inconvenience.

Someone I know did CS. They sat round in a van all the time smoking weed, meeting other ciminals and having a good laugh. When not sat round they had to collect a few bits of furniture.

Now thats justice!!!!!

Round here they get dropped off to the job, dunno where they get collected from

Typically they repaint the dis used underpass every couple of weeks, you know the one that is not open to the public
