Confirming camera vans read both ways?
Discussion
The answer may depend on which orifice of the van the camera was pointing? They point out of one of the sides when on the motorway bridges usually over the carrigeway they are targeting and point out of the back (generally) when on non motorway roads? But yes they can read speeds of vehicles coming towards them or going away from them if the camera can see the vehicle. Am I right to think they generally position to favour vehicles coming towards them?
I've often wondered if they can 'do' bikes that come towards them though - do they have a separate camera to catch its rear plate as it passes?

Some do indeed have addtional cameras for this purpose.Gassing Station | Speed, Plod & the Law | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
