Which Acts & Sections are you talking about?
Many later Acts include the repealing of earlier Acts either in entirety or certain Sections.

you prob could have had an answer by now if you were secific with the sections.

i assume the essex act covers essex only and if that was made afterwrads then it would overrule the previous one. as mentioned, often if there is a confliect the old law is repealed or amended.

LGA 1894 was repealed by LGA 1933 which was itself repealed by the LGA 1972. The latter is still current albeit amended. biggrin

The Local Government Act 1894 states 'Don't do anything silly, or we'll nick you'

The Essex Act 1987 states 'You will wear appropriate underwear at all times thus preventing your ankles becoming cold'

I can't see the relevance really...
