Last time I looked, this was a site for motoring enthusiasts, so think I'm in the right place, and really, genuine thanks to the positive replys.
Good luck though

Was the last time you looked 2006? this place is less motoring enthusiast and more a slightly less amusing version of Mumsnet.
Good luck though
Motoring Entuathiasts yes if you want everyone to agree 4 speeding offences is intelligent driving you might want to go to the Subaru owners club page if you want to be told get on if in doubt flat out.Good luck though
Having said that the site has its fair share of people who just want an argument with you.

Poor bugger. I got 6 months ban on a 12 point tot-up from N Wales magistrates in Mold. My exceptional hardship plea was weak and dismissed. Bright side is license cleared of points after 6 months. Speed cameras and revenue raising and local authority bureaucrats - bah! bd stupid system.
And it's here to stay whilst idiots continue to play right into their hands. If it wasn't speed cameras, it would be something else.

Yes, and if my auntie had balls she'd be my uncle.
If your Auntie had balls then she'd either be your Auntie suffering from androgen insensitivity syndrome, or she would actually be your trans-gender Uncle. If your Auntie had been born a man (with balls), then she would be a he, and he would be your Uncle!

A letter from your employer stating that it will effect your job should swerve a ban, - however, they'll up the fine to balance it out.
Not normally unless the loss of the jobs effects some one other than the driver, the driver knew what the circumstances if he carried on. Driver needs take responsibility for their actions will be their view but their wife's and kids if they exist shouldn't unduly suffer. No point dodging a ban and 3 months later getting points

I don't know, the op seemed Strangley pig headed about the situation but there are those on here getting the jollys playing chalk to poster cheese.Like parking eye issuing tickets based people visiting their car parks in ANPR. Then someone tells me to pay the fine and make sure I pay 5p for all carrier bags as well..

Yes there are the fair share of those. But if the ops attitude hasn't changed from speed cameras are just for money and he isn't going to calm down till he is out the woods, what advice can you give?
It's cameras, a hazard of the job I do, and probably many others too. I won't change my attitude to the fact that the motorist is an easy cash cow, nor the fact that doing 65 on a perfectly clear motorway is dangerous, as previously, zombie mode, etc.
If I get a ban, I'm lucky enough to be in a position to work round it, that doesn't mean I'm not going to explore all avenues to avoid or reduce it.
Now there's some cheeky fekks on here, but I'm a big boy, I've already agreed they have a point, but those that use the distance and anonymity of the Internet to get brave should get back to their exam studies...
Shouldn't they Maxxy...
Hi Roofer
Having spent 40+ years motoring 40/50k miles per year around the UK on business, frequently against the clock & with a world of worries & distractions going on in my head I can empathise with you. One 40mph in a 30mph limit & almost ditto one month before giving it all up I was lucky for I did speed but maybe there were less cameras around for many of those years, councils didn't need the money & Plod was busy risking their lives catching monster murderers gangsters & paedophiles.
So.....this is a wake up call for you, so take it as a positive step to saving your life & that of others, not to mention your job. You should now review your driving style, your ability to manage time, your temper, your patience & how well or otherwise you cope with having to do as you're told.
Formulate your thoughts into a sort of mission to re-evaluate your driving attitudes & behaviour motivated by the speeding fine & work out how to express this in court.
That you have seemingly not learnt your lesson will be a major factor in the court wanting to ban you thus a radical subservient attitude based on some deep reflection on the erro0r of your ways MIGHT swing things for you.
You may have to swallow some manly pride which will take confidence & guts.
Good luck.

How did you know it was perfectly clear? Do you have CCTV screens in your car covering the whole stretch from above? The object(S) of the warnings may have cleared but the again they could turn back again. You were already on 9points. Shouldn't that at the least say something to you? Stop blaming cameras/policy/other factors and look at your observational skills first and foremost. Stop being a prissy arrogant driver. Everyone here goes over the limit. I dare say most motorists do but in this country for the majority there are big warning icons, signs, painted colours, flashing lights warning you of cams ahead. What more do you want? Someone in the passenger seat who will spot for you and shout/slap you?
Stop acting as though 'speed' makes approaching-middle aged men look edgy, cool and young again.

If you had a better attitude and a proper understanding of what your actions are doing, less people would question the reasons why you were in this situation.
Instead, however, you post on here with a 'don't give a fk' attitude and for all of the billy big bks stuff you say about others, you are actually the one being the idiotic keyboard warrior. Your comments imply that others are less intelligent than you, fit certain stereotypes based on an item of clothing and some of them are damn insulting.
The really funny thing is that you are actuallly the most stupid person in this thread. You are the one posting that due to your own stupidity, you are pretty much going to be banned or fined heavily soon. And then, to back it up, you childishly call anyone who dares to say 'you know, you could have avoided this situation.'
Your attitude stinks and because of your contempt of the system, I'm pleased that someone like you is going to be punished. If you weren't such a plonker, I'm sure that the responses to the post about your situation would be much more favourable to you.

Middle age men don't speed to look "edgy, cool and young again"!Middle age men speed because it's one of the few ways we can match the young kids without getting exhausted from the effort!
The kids need to realise:
