10 Days ago I was travelling along the A40 towards oxford when i noticed much police activity, shortly after I was stopped with all the blue lights on display and pulled into the esso station where I was greeted by at least 8 police officers and 4 traffic cars.

Apparantly, My vehicle had shown up on apnr as having no registered keeper- I had just bought the car.

So im stuck on the car park for 20 mins while some very pleasant police check it all out.

What a waste of time for the 20 officers invloved though when they dont have resources for murder cases!

I presume your car was brand new then and it was a computer or database error?

Also are you saying that the ANPR in force on the M40 was the fixed type, like from a bridge, or was it in the police car?

Just interested in how many ANPR systems they have in use, thats all.

It was not brand new. I had collected it from the garage 2 days before but this change had not been notified to dvla.

The check was a van in a layby with many cameras located in it with police pusuit cars next to it
