Would you mind saying what the penalty was in the end?

I'm in the same boat.

Thanks

A 28 day ban is the absolute max they can impose. First offence, if good character, suited and booted and full of remorse, no way will they get that.
Incorrect and it’s unlikely that the single justice will require OP to attend court.

Talk us through it.
Sentencing guidelines for 100 in a 70 are 7 to 28 days ban or 4-6 points and a band B fine, and thats if it doesn't go down the route of a FPN. Also remember you're responding to a post that's over a year old.

Guideline is 28 days, doesn't make it the max once any aggravating factors are taken into account.

A single Justice 'can' issue a ban but won't as it will be referred to a mags hearing (if they think a ban is appropriate) for sentencing and to require the defendant to attend. It's one of those perverse contradictions in our justice system.

Thread is a year old I wouldn't hold out much hope for an answer on what happened here.

What do you think a sentencing guideline is? Hint: it’s not a statutory maximum.

agtlaw - do you see many people punished above the guidelines in your professional life?

I've returned my NIP and now I'm waiting - really hope it's an SJPN that I receive next.

Thanks for the help. Much appreciated.

I like that!! Always used my driving instructors advise, 'Treat Everyone Else as An Idiot'
Well that's a concise message, but I prefer not to think of my fellow road users as idiots. It's more a case of being aware that some of them might make mistakes that could cause me a problem, but by the same token I am perfectly capable of making mistakes that might problems for others, so there's quite a lot to look out for and deal with.

As for the OP's problem, I haven't been anywhere near the M25 for a few years, but I can well believe it is not the place to be exceeding the speed limit by serious margins. I still intensely dislike the NSL, but I wouldn't demonstrate it in that area. In any case, I see little appeal in merely belting along a motorway, or any dual carriageway, for that matter. Give me an interesting single carriageway A or B road any day. driving

The OP was clearly unwise to do what he did; but given that I don't regard speeding as a serious offence, I wish him the best possible outcome.

Look at their table of "speeding ticket reports by county"...

Top of the list is 30 ticket, number 10 is 15 tickets.

That's not exactly a large data set, is it? It's somewhat akin to all those cosmetic goop ads on the box, with subtitles reading "84% of 31 women agreed".

Didn't really take note of the adds , just found the drivers comments interesting along with 100mph plus people ,just looked at the fines to see how they have changed after April 2017 .
