They tried it on with me too, but the parcel did get delivered, their method of collecting is to stick the charge on your next order with them. Guess how many orders I've put in with them since?

The charge is still sat on my account and will sit there for ever more. I just book direct with the courier now and it works better than p2g did.

LOL!!!!!!! I set up an account years ago and never posted anything, then when I searched on google about P2G, piston heads showed up and I remembered I had an account and wanted to stick my 10p in laughlaughlaughlaughlaugh

Parcel2go won't put you in touch with the courier they use, and the courier they use won't talk to you if you call them. This is the problem with using a intermediary.

I have had MANY problems with P2Go. I used them for my mail order business for 2 years. The problem is when things go wrong you can't intervene. You just aren't allowed to talk to the courier directly - which could have saved a lot of bother.

Also use their insurance with caution. Take photos of the packaging in detail. I had a parcel kicked to st when posted to France. Properly purposefully destroyed. I rarely take out the insurance as it doesn't add up when posting daily, but as it was overseas I did on this occasion. They refused to pay as the packaging was "insufficient" (it wasn't). Even with pics they only offered 1/4 of the value (my cover was more than enough). After several arguments and rejecting offers I accepted 50% and now only use them for low value low importance parcels.

I now have an account with Parcelforce and the difference is night and day. I can also recommend TNT - used them a lot with only one damaged package. They even helped catch a fraudster for me.

Surely you are part of the problem if you continued to give them business after the first couple of problems.

I've had one of these emails today. I sent a pair of trousers to the USA. Weighed them, they were ~500g (I have another pair here, larger size, and they weigh in at 570g). So P2G reckon the parcel weighs 1.4kg. Like others here, I can't find a phone number or email address. Their Twitter feed suggests that they respond to Twitter DMs - but they haven't so far.

They want over 50% more than I paid, which doesn't actually make it worth me sending the parcel. What will they do? Return it to me? Or is it lost forever unless I let them pull my pants down?

That's a massively negative comment for no good reason.

I took the time to spell out, from my experience, the problems with using intermediaries with high value or high imprtance parcels to help others make informed decisions.

I no longer use them for my business, but, on occasions, for personal items, I send low value items that just need a signature and parcel2go fit the bill better than most other options - I am happy to use their business in that respect.. After the two serious problems I had I stopped using them for business parcels.

I challenged this and P2G have come back at me with the old "volumetric" challenge. The parcel was the size of a medium paperback book. They say I need to ask the recipient to take pictures and send them to me to prove.

On the contrary, I'm going to demand that they send me pics of the parcel they think is volumetrically overweight, because it certainly isn't the parcel I sent.

They will chase you and chase you for ages - they will probably point you to some suitably wordy terms in your contract with them in which it sets out that it's all your problem to put right any issues over cost/size/condition of shipment. The parcel will have been delivered - so in all likelihood packaging binned - so the recipient isn't going to be interested in helping you to any great degree.

Your best option is to rig up a near enough identical package, show pics of it with re-printed address label and a tape measure with clearly visible measurements, and sat on some scales with weight showing. Send them off and they'll do their bit of forwarding on to the actual carrier that moved them. All being well they'll cancel the invoice for the extra money and this lot will forget about you.....

As you say, they may try to hide behind some words somewhere but this is what I have sent back to them:

We'll see! Thieving gits, there is absolutely no way my parcel exceed weight by >10% and certainly not by size.

I tried this for a couple of months, quite enjoying winding them up, but there is the risk it'll end up sold on as a debt for a cretinous outfit of 'debt recovery' folk to try their scare tactics on you....luckily my one they passed to a company with plenty of google based evidence of their dodginess!

Its not negative for no reason there is a point. If enough people give incompetant aholes money, then they will remain in business and continue to fk people over. If everybody avoids them they go out of business, and everyone else in the game receives a strong message. Problem solved. Continuing to feed scam artists just causes them to do more of the same.
