Ordered laptop from well known shop and different one has arrived, it's a completely different model.
Phoned up and getting nowhere. They are trying to pass the blame on courier company.
Any advice?

If he sends it back won't the shop say he has returned a different computer to the one they delivered?

If it's possible to do so,take it back to nearest store in person.
Whole lot easier than doing it via emails or Muppets on phone.

Did you buy it via your credit card? That will offer you a fairly reliable source of getting things straightened out...

A few years ago our couriers offered us a special high speed service so we tried it. Because it was a new service the labels would be printed by them at the depot, all we had to do was stick the invoice/address label on it and they'd do the rest.

Two days later a customer rang to tell us that the mohair soft top he was expecting turned out to be a set of suspension bushes and the guy rebuilding his suspension told us that he'd got a mohair soft top.

Suspicion fell on me as I'd stuck our labels on but these turned out to correctly describe the contents of the parcels so I came out without any st stuck to my fur.

We didn't use that service again.
