Police Marker On My Car
Discussion
BIB not TrafPol turned up to view a "suspect vehicle" in the street, as one of the neighbours had reported it.
One of the 2 then took an interest in my car parked on the road and started scribbling in his pad. Thought that I had better pop out and understand if we have an issue.
One of the pair explained that one of the letters and numbers are "a little close" - is a reasonable chap. Other pipes up with " I have put a marker on this one and that one in the driveway". (One on the driveway is naughty but parked off the road behind gates).
Ironically, the one on the road was sat in front of a TrafPol last night for the best part of 2 miles (double crewed X5 in full livery) - not pulled or issue expressed. In fact same font/plate set up for the last 12+ years on different vehicles with no pulls or ticking off.
(Other chap rapidly went and sat in their car - as would like to think he thought - middle aged fella with a few okay cars and civil demeanour "why bother")
Now that this tw4t (sorry) has seemingly seen fit to issue a marker - what should I expect, for how long and also did he need to issue me any paperwork.

Sounds like a friendly warning to me "get it sorted or the next time I see the car you'll be getting a ticket" the officer is being reasonable if you ask me.
A mate of mine mentioned this very thing the other day, somebody at his work got stopped with a dodgy spaced plate, was told to sort it or he'd get a ticket. He didn't sort it so ended up with a fine and still had to get the plate sorted out.
My advice would be to take the hint and get some new plates made up with the standard legal spacing to prevent any future issues.
