Caught doing 88MPH in a 50

The overhead sign said ?? You were doing ???. Someone (police, highway) may have had to cross the carriageway to clear debris, s/he only needs a few seconds, but does need protection (or do you not think so?)

Did I say I was in the right? I wasn't...........and I should have slowed more / quicker and was at the right speed by the time I passed the next sign despite probably being one of the few that did slow down at all.

But nope I'm not having it........they were variable speed signs set at 50MPH for absolutely no reason whatsoever and not a single "official" vehicle / person or hazard anywhere in sight which is exactly the same as I saw a few weeks ago on the M5.

eta just looked at the piccies......since the limit had changed to 50mph only 4mins 18secs earlier......it looks as if mine was the 143rd event.
