It's further outlay having his father killed though.
It's a bit late for that, he's already dead...

When he phoned the other day and I had a chunter on at him about why he hadn't started on the first day etc I said why didn't you start when you said you would? Expecting him to say my dad died etc. Not once did he mention it. So I think he most likely forgot he had said it in the first place. Bit like the other lies.

Time to move on OP and chalk it up to cheap is rarely best.

I do highly recommend Money Claim Online if you feel you are out of pocket; i've used it numerous times and it's never let me down (*****WHEN YOU SIGN UP WRITE ALL THE USERNAMES/PASSWORDS ETC ETC DOWN as if you lose them it's a real, real PITA*****).

Good luck.

anyone able to hazard a guess how many ton of MOT this would be? I know it's hard from the photo.

Pure guess circa 6-8 tonnes.

if it was even 75mm deep as you stated previously then:

area ( say 8m X 6m) = 48m2 x 0.075 = 3.6m/3

3.6 X 2 (Ton per m/3) factor dependent on type of material

Total weight = 7.2T

That's an 8 wheeler so probably 32000kg gvw, I'd say there's about 5 tonne on there for a random internet guess

Different materials have different weights be it sand, gravel or MOT Type 1 scalpings, crushed concrete, even whether damp or dry affects the wight... so to calculate by the looks of how much is in the lorry is a bit hit and miss to be honest.

From many years of experience I would say between 6-8T on the basis that is a type 1 kind of material.

Wren, definitely recommend moneyclaimonline. It is so cheap and easy to use there is no drawback. Worst case scenario you don't get your money back but you cause him as much grief as he has caused you. Best case you get your money and the grief.

A 10T lorry is the same size .to look at as a 7.5T ,I drove 12Ts for years ,a truck with 4 axles is way heavier ,as Spaceman said.

Yes, default size for most 'proper' aggregates supplies companies. If I order 10 tonne is the minimum weight they'll bring on that size truck but that truck looks to have 5-ish+ on like you say.

Looks like about 5t that, it's a on a 20t tipper.

Got to be honest the trade as a whole is driving me insane. The culture for wanting stuff cheaper and cheaper and the dheads who seem proud of how cheap they can do it are really starting to fk things up.

Currently I'm very busy, as is everyone else it seems, however that doesn't stop the stupid prices.

Priced a job tonight in billericay, 6900 plus vat. His price from a local door knocker who everyone seems to be having? £4300 no mention of vat, Romanian workers on £40 a day (so I'm told).
I actually said to the bloke, why have me do it? Why would you? You've told me this guy is good (he's not) so why even consider me? What he is good at is knocking on doors, pressuring people (their own admission) and then doing a vaguely reasonable job with sign boards all over it. This then creates a domino effect of 'well they must be decent,Molokai how many they've done' and on it goes until they go to another area, to be fair he's been hitting it hard for a year in that area now with no let up.
He didn't say a lot to that, but it pisses me off to spend 2 hours with someone, 2 hours I could spend either with my family or working, when what they want to pay is what the pikes charge.

Another one today, my price 15k including vat, told me I was the middle price, said next one was a lot more. However the cheapest is 9k including! I mean come on, this bloke who the customer knows has a bad reputation is really able to be 6k less......seriously.it is t the same job, they get exactly what the op here gets, either messed around endlessly or 5t of fking base on a 60m2 job. It's literally stupid tbh.

When I used to do stock calculations I usually used 1.7 to 1.8 for Type 1 calcs. Mind you, that was for metres cubed to tonnes rather than tons.
