OK, I won't ask you that then, but I'm entirely happy that they have it that way round.

Motorways, however useful they may be, are no fun anyhow as far as I'm concerned. The real enjoyment of driving is to be had on single carriageway roads.

If you are on unemployment benefits for life, and have never worked therefore never paid in, doesn't this mean you won't get fined for speeding?

Will they even fine you in the first place? Because you have no wages.

And if they do...the public pays for it from their tax.

If the offenders only source of income was state benefits, the relevant weekly income (for the purposes of determinng the fine) would be deemed to be £120.

Good news! It's only 4 hours of waffling....they run two courses a day!

Sadly my latest misdemeanour - 69 in a 60 on a clear empty M1 with no road works - will be points and fine, having enjoyed a SAC a year ago: clearly a dangerous recidivist, sorry!

So if you are on the dole for life (and milking it) you get to pay just £120 for speeding.

If you are a high tax payer, not only do you have to pay 10X that fine for the same offence, you also indirectly pay for the other guys speeding fine too.

It's meant to be a hardship. £120 isn't a hardship to a high tax payer. The aim is for it to be equally inconvenient for everyone, though obviously there are limits to that given it's a capped fine.
