I think our 'Hants Rat' is a decent bloke. Tells it as it is from a police perspective. I don't always agree about the speed limits and enforcement but that's tough.

FWIW My understanding is a Road Rat was a name given to Met police bike cops by other traffic officers . Given in the days before Hi Viz when they wore all black and scurried about the roads .
Quite often refered to by CB users "the rats are about ".
I actually said to one that pulled me at 6.am "you rats are normally still in your nest at this time "
He just laughed and said that rats are always about unless the weather is bad .
