Removing News Rebublic from HTC/Android

afternoon all. how the hell do you remove News Rebublic from an Android device? came on a previous update, get about 20 pings/news feeds a day on it ( nearly all American ). have tried removing it like normal apps etc but does not work. keeps coming back everyday. soon as it opens in the morning, it's there. getting sick of it now

My HTC M9 does not let me remove it, nor piles of other tosh I don't want (grrr!), but you can stop apps jabbering at you.

Settings / Apps / News Republic You can then disable the app & set notifications to "Block all".

Thanks. Will try it now. Won't let me remove it. Have tried to uninstall it but keeps coming back
