Totting up ban coming !!
Discussion
I think this is the first time i have ever had a post deleted. There was no profanity, no singling anyone out, but was a pointed observation that straightforward enquiries on this nature tend to generate a disproportionate response from those who become loudly indignant that someone might actually speed. I merely recalled that the original PH logo included " Speed Matters".
Let see if this polite posting achieves the PH standard of discourse.

I want to make this quite clear. The OP needs to visit SpecSavers. If he/she can't spot yellow painted speed cameras in a period of time then he/she can't see developing hazards.
I'm disappointed in the modding on this topic. 'speed matters'. Yes but competency in being able to drive at speed matters more. The ability.
Why did you delete my post?

Only just catching-up with this thread but how do you know the OP's convictions have all resulted from passing brightly painted fixed cameras? I guess the information might have been on one of the posts that's now been deleted but if not I also need to go to Specsavers because at a quick glance I'm not seeing it mentioned anywhere! I will reply again..I've accepted my failings much earlier in the thread, but thank you yet again for pointing them out I'm disappointed in the modding on this topic. 'speed matters'. Yes but competency in being able to drive at speed matters more. The ability.

Perhaps he missed them because he was looking out for real hazardsDeary me.
You'll be saying driving to the speed limit is like walking a tightrope next.
I don't condemn the act/person caught but post- act attitude. It's always someone else's fault. It's profiteering for goodness sake just accept it. Don't the 'scamerar folk accept that multiple times caught needs addressing not the system?
One SP30 I can understand. Not multiple ones.
As for the moderation. If you think anti awareness of your driving environment is right? Crack on. I'll shut the door behind me.

You keep talking as if the OP had a lack of awareness of his driving environment - and missed speeding cameras which should have been very obvious - but what evidence do you have for that assertion? I agree missing painted fixed cameras is careless but mobile cameras are often well concealed and by the time even an observant driver has seen them it could be too late as you can be "pinged" from half a mile away (or more). In that situation you can obviously criticise someone for breaking the speed limit but I don't think it necessarily follows that they've been unaware of their driving environment in the way you continue to imply.Edited by Sa Calobra on Monday 1st May 20:17
