Having had a moron living in an adjacent property in the past, I have a measure of sympathy for the OP.

In my case he introduced himself by climbing the wall to my garden to retrieve his kids football (and as it later turned out some of my kids balls too). No apology, no acknowledgement, just a blank eyed stare and a sneer.

He's gone now....
That's a nice new patio you've got there? Is it new? smile

Who has an iron bar laying around their garden?
I didn't think I had, but last night I discovered I do, I found one yesterday after hacking back a bunch of ivy next to a wall.

I found plenty of asbestos, metal bars, glass and roof tiles digging my garden.
And the remains of a fitted kitchen.
The previous owners were bigger wkers than we thought at the time.

I am a farmer.

We are not allowed to make bonfires with anything except hedge trimmings or un-sawn or treated timber (e.g. just logs)...not even paper or cardboard. And no oil-based accelerants either.

Ironically your regular non-farming householder, can... as long as the smoke produced does not go beyond a certain darkness or acridity limit...and the wind must be below 3 on the Beaufort scale. Ask your local EH inspector for exact details.

Just sayin'

Maybe it was not a "dead mouse" but rather "deadmau5"?
I thought that was worth a clapclapclap
Maybe you should try saying 'Hi Friend' rather than going straight to 'Raise your Weapon'

Id be rather careful now, two things, you confronted his wife. Never a good idea, but also after he has escalated this, you took to your heels. Right or wrong he now sees you as an easy target physically. Yes the police maybe a bit of a deterrent but he now knows you wont be standing on his grass again to confront him.

Aside from security measures others have suggested, you can only go down the official route now , listing all incidents and logging them with relevant authorities.

Or option 2 , start boxing or muay thai, and 6 months later, go round and ask him for a chat round at the most secluded spot you know lol.

My advice is to firstly do nothing else to escalate the situation as it's already at boiling point ☝️. Then consider that in his mind you have committed the cardinal sin of having a go at his lady/wife/girlfriend and although it probably wasn't the thought process behind you talking to her! That's how it looks and that's what he believes. And without acception myself included would and will protect the ones you love regardless of what!where! Who is a threat to them. As the police have already become involved and they are aware or will be? It's time you think 💭 Ask to speak to him or post them a letter. Stating how you were wrong thinking back being frustrated with his wife and with reflection realise how it looks and and apologise if you upset her! Because that's what caused the incident with him your going to drop the charges with the police as it's not your intention as your sure it's not his to see any further harm or upset to any of the parties involved?. We have both obviously let silly things upset us and allow stress to build up to this point and it's crazy. Even if we're never close friends with mutual respect and understanding on both sides I am sure that we can be neighbours that look out for each other instead of feeling like we have got to watch each other✊🏼

I aint being funny you had a mouse fall out of the sky. I could have come from anywhere most likely a bird dropped it. you had a go at his mrs then you when on his property for some more

cops wont take a bit of notice. he just say you was aggressive on his property your off your trolley and he asked you to leave and he had to help you when you refused. you may well end up interviewed your self for assault.

my advice
1 make dam Shaw you got you facts strait before accusing anyone of something
2 don't gob off at other guys mrs
3 if you are going to enter some property for some aggro. your best be willing to go the full 15 rounds
not every one plays the same game or by the rules
