Everytime I think I'm not sure that I can cope with the nonsense on this forum anymore some loony pops up and starts a hilarious thread.

Were the plates sent off to have these tests performed on them?
Of course not, otherwise they'd have the BS mark on them. No point getting a sample tested unless you prove it passes.

I think the OP has missed the point that any plate supplier who is supplying plates which meet the standard will be putting the BS mark on them.

Also, they are not legal in Finland either, so why think copying them will help?

don't speed as I hate stone chips
What has speeding got to do with stone chips?

Most stone chips occur due to stones thrown up by other vehicles - and their impact speed can be much faster than the speed you are travelling at depending on which direction they are thrown.

Do you think you won't get stone chips as long as you stick to <=70mph on a motorway?

Those plates might fail the resistance to impact test as well, so he can't take any chances...

as I have said before my number plates meet all legal standards apart from the postcode and bs number.

if they are legal, apart from see quote in bold, then sorry shout THEY AIN'T LEGAL.

You can't have it both ways, they either are or aren't legal.

Brilliant thread!

I especially liked the bit about spelling and grammar only mattering to 'keyboard warriors'.

I'm going to use that with my clients. Bloody keyboard warriors, the lot of them.

Well done, OP, for standing up for your right to not understand spelling and grammar.
He said that! My god, where do these people hide during the day?

This is the worst attempt at a troll thread I've seen in ages.

Op acts like a born again hippy, free from constraints and education aparently and proceeds to wind up PH.

Rubbish, gave up on page 2.

Make your mind up. A right can't be withdrawn if it isn't a right in the first place.

I don't bother with tinted plates. I just wear a pair of these 24/7:

They are awesome, the whole world is tinted. The Police don't stop me too. I'm free to live in a tinted world. And cos they is so dark my car paint looks perfect even when it's scratched. Win Win!

Think it through. If a person passes his test and complies with the other requirements than he has earned the right to drive.

Ironically enough, the thought that ran through my mind when I read your answer was 'Class'.

I think it's you who needs to think it through.

Earlier you said it was self evident that it was a privilege not a right. Now you're clearly saying it's a right.
