I'd probably open with 'I got your text to say the second key was posted on Monday but it hasn't arrived. What service did you use to post it?' Even second class would have arrived by now. Seems questionable.
It's obvious that they haven't posted the key but i'd play along with them. Say you're worried that because the key hasn't arrived it must have been stolen/lost leaving your car vulnerable to theft.andburg said:
If the key hasn't arrived and they claim they've posted it then you need to request the car is taken to a dealer who can remove the key from the car's memory so it wont work.
+1Clearly at this point you need to be saying that you will accept nothing less than existing keys being wiped, and two new keys supplied and coded. I would not be happy about a key somewhere out there that can unlock your car, especially when it was advertised as having 2 in the first place.
You might not like confrontations but you need to sort this out. It doesn't take 5 days for a key to arrive, even via second class post - so either it's been lost or (more likely) the dealer is flat out lying to you. Either way you need new keys coded and the existing ones removed.
Is this a national operation? Presumably if reputable it will have a parts department. Order a new key, get it sent to your local dealership. Say you'l pay when you go to pick it up. Tell parts guy you want to make sure the key works and when/if it does tell him to take up the question of a bill with the original salesman.
