Strobe lights etc etc
Discussion
Now I know that to have any kind of flashing blue(or any other colour) light is a no no for the road but how do you stand if they are fitted to your car for show use. Say if you were stopped for somthing else and the police spotted them etc etc.

A similar problem is "Police Cars" owned by film companies etc... The rules are that the vehicle cannot be marked with the word Police and must have the blue lights covered when driven on a road.
Depends what the show car is. If it is just a case of additional lights fitted - no problem, provided they are not used on the roads.

I thought it was force badges that had to be present to make it a police car?
I drove a Vento VR6 up to Yorkshire in full livery, Police stickers (covered blue lights though) but VW symbols inside fake force badges. It was a demo.
It was hilarious I have to say.
The saddo blue LEDs as fitted to HGVs and Saxos are not strictly illegal, although some Trafpol may try and dream up offences of Lights not conforming to type, i.e. they are not the same colour as the main lights, but quite frankly most BiB have more important things to worry about.
If the twit that has them fitted is insured, and not driving like an @rse, then any sensible BiB will move on. The bad people are out there - its a numbers game.
